Dallas Courthouses

Dallas is the third-largest city in Texas and the eighth-largest city in the United States boasting a population of over 2 million people. The city is notable for many things—great barbecue, the Dallas Cowboys, the infamous Roe v. Wade prosecution, and its very expansive court system.

If you live in the Dallas County metropolitan area, you know there are many courthouses around the city.  If you have a criminal, civil, probate or family law matter, it’s likely in one of the district or county courts.

Here we’ve highlighted five key court systems which are commonly encountered: The Dallas County and District Courts, the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas at Dallas, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, the U.S District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the Dallas Immigration Court operated by the Department of Justice.
